Downtown Books Dothan, Alabama Library Senior Session

Sarah had a vision of taking her senior photos in a library, and Downtown Books in Dothan, Alabama was kind enough to let us use the store for her session. She described the vibe as business chic with a hint of librarian, and I immediately loved the direction. We captured a mix of cozy indoor lifestyle portraits among and a few in-action shots right outside on the sidewalk downtown. It was such a fun follow-up to her cap and gown session and felt perfectly on brand for her personality.

There’s something about choosing a location that genuinely reflects who you are that makes senior sessions even more meaningful. Instead of a traditional field or sunset backdrop, Sarah wanted something that felt polished, academic, and a little editorial. Downtown Books gave us exactly that. The natural window light and calm atmosphere created such a perfect setting for her senior portraits.

I always aim to create senior sessions that feel relaxed and true to each graduate’s personality, whether that’s something bold and creative like this or more classic and outdoorsy. Sarah embraced the vision completely, and it made the entire session feel effortless.
