Couple's Mini Session Dothan, Alabama

Donovan and Bridget were the absolute sweetest and trusted me to photograph their mini session with my brand-new camera for the very first time. Our goal was to capture their relationship and the beautiful August greens all around them.

The location was perfect for an August session and so perfectly green! Shooting during this season allowed for rich, vibrant colors of the deep greens of the trees and the golden tones of late afternoon sunlight.

I love when a session allows me to really experiment with lighting and composition, and this one gave me the opportunity to do just that.

August in this area is such a beautiful time for portraits (although hot!), and it’s always so nice to work in locations with natural surroundings like this one.

Sessions like this remind me how much the environment itself can shape the mood of the photographs, even when the focus is on the simple moments between two people.
